The Scan Signature Chart is a reference table of RS (rock signature) values for Star Citizen mining. When you scan a rock with your mining laser's scanner, the RS value tells you what ore composition to expect. This chart lets you quickly look up what a given RS reading means so you know whether to crack it or move on.
Enter an RS value in the quick-lookup field for fuzzy matching across the full signature range up to 32x. The chart highlights the closest matching rows so you can identify rock types even when your scan reading isn't exact. Filter by location to narrow results to the signatures you'll actually encounter in a specific asteroid field or on a particular moon or planet.
The chart is split into two sections: Ship Mining (for Prospector, MOLE, and other ship-based laser miners) and FPS/Ground Vehicle Mining (for hand-held multi-tools and ground vehicle equipment). Each section has its own RS scale and ore composition patterns. Pin rows to the top of the table for side-by-side comparison when you're trying to distinguish between similar rock types in the field.
